Deaf & dumb asylum, n.w. corner Broad & Pine Street, Philadelphia View looking northwest showing the building constructed 1824-26 after the designs of John Haviland at 320 South Broad Street. View includes street railroad tracks, street lamps, and adjacent residences. The school, incorporated in 1821, provided instruction in trades and manufactures to deaf and mute persons.
